Welcome to the Phalaris Project For over 30 years, I have been building a library on horse racing and horse sport subjects and doing data projects on racing. In the 1987 Central Arizona Regional Science and Engineering Fair, my Mathematics category project on racehorses earned me a four-year scholarship and, fittingly, I graduated from the University of Arizona’s Race Track Industry Program. During the seven years I worked for the Daily Racing Form in the 1990s, I produced four “Graded Stakes Year Books” and the guts of “Champions” - a five-year data compilation project in itself. It’s fortunate that I work full-time with SQL these days, since my databases have gotten bigger over time, as have my projects. I have proudly served as the editor of the “American Racing Manual” since the 2004 edition and have done work for a variety of individuals and organizations over the years. I don’t have as much time as I once did to take part in racing-related message boards and lists. The Phalaris Project has been my personal outlet since 2000 to post columns and statistical items that catch my interest. Welcome to the newest edition of the online Phalaris Project. What’s New?
